Stuff I make with my hands.

Nido

A set of portable blocks that inspires building big and fast. Each block has a unique face and colour that leaves room for children and adults to explore their use and function. Individuals are encouraged to mix their toys or objects with these blocks in whatever way they see fit. These Baltic Birch boxes are finished with non-toxic paint and coated with natural wax.

Bough Lamp

3D printed joints connected to dowels, an LED strip and an extension cord are brought together to build this lamp. Its tree-like frame makes it easy to grasp and move to other workstations and its adjustable limb gives a range of lighting positions. All of its parts, joinery and electrical are highlighted rather than hidden, celebrating its construction and form.

Jack

Gathering around a fire and small space living were the themes of this furniture piece. This compact cart uses a candlestick holder as a handle to move around a space. Inside the cart, it contains multiple size surfaces for stacking and sitting. Its log-like shape and candle are inspired by the ritual and intimacy of gathering around an open flame. Made with bent Birch ply, solid Birch, surfaced with environmentally-conscious Linoleum and finished with organic wax.

These coasters are made with environmentally-conscious Linoleum that is easy to clean, Baltic Birch plywood, and packaging made of solid Aspen that can contain all coasters and their instructions.

Allie

Allie is a foundation that supports varying materials to form unique chairs. Using industrial ratchet straps, Allie can take on many forms shaped by the material added. Streets, alleys, industrial areas, and public places were explored and documented to find discarded material. This project investigates our throwaway culture, our lack of individualism in the mass-produced and our active role in creating and maintaining the objects that surround us.
